Altar Care
The Altar Care/Linens Ministry cares for the sacred linens on a rotating schedule. Training is provided on how to care for the special altar linens that contain the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. This ministry is made up of team members who, in their own homes, reverently launder and care for the purificators and corporals used on the altar at Mass. Time commitment – members serve on a rotating basis throughout the year. Depending on the number of volunteers, a volunteer may launder altar linens 3-4 times a year, or less. Contact:

· Altar Servers serve the priest at the altar, setting an example for parishioners how to participate in the Mass by joyfully singing and responding. Children in grades 3 (who have made their 1st Communion) through high school, may be altar servers.
· Training is required and will be provided after signing up as a volunteer.
· Altar servers are scheduled for Sunday Masses and Solemnities or Holy Days of Obligation based on their availability and the need. There are also instances where they may need to serve for weddings, funerals, and other special liturgies.

The Ministry is responsible for set-up, maintenance, coordination and operation of the church’s audiovisual technology used during masses, programs and other special events.. Volunteers will be scheduled and training will be provided. Experience with sound systems is not required, but if you have such experience, please consider volunteering.
John Klein: [email protected]Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
· The Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHCs) assist the priest with the distribution of Holy Communion.
· EMHCs must be approved and complete required training before serving. Names of EMHCs are submitted to the archbishop.
· EMHCs are scheduled for Sunday Masses and Solemnities or Holy Days of Obligation, based on their availability and the need.

The Holy Spirit Floral Committee works to create a welcoming, and esthetically pleasing environment that promotes the intent of the liturgy and heightens our encounter with God. The presence of plants/flowers symbolizes Christ’s victory over death. Our purpose is to enrich the spiritual environment for the entire church membership.
This is accomplished by beautifying the church with plants and flowers using (real and silk stems) on Sundays, and other liturgical worship seasons. The members of this committee are presented with a calendar, for each liturgical season in order to create the two Sunday altar arrangements throughout the year. (There are no altar arrangements during Advent and Lent). We work in pairs to create these arrangements once every 5-6 weeks. In addition, we all come together to decorate the church for Easter Sunday. (Fresh flowers are always used for Easter Sunday). We are a very small committee but have a big love for what we have been called to do! We pray you will be called too!

· Lectors, or readers, proclaim Sacred Scripture on Sunday Masses and HolyDays of Obligation, during the Liturgy of the Word.

As an essential liturgical ministry, the music team at Holy Spirit Parish seeks to foster and develop the full, conscious, and active participation of the gathered congregation at each of our weekly liturgies and Holy Days throughout the year.
The music ministry at Holy Spirit offers a different character at each of our four weekend liturgies. Music at our Saturday evening mass is led by a cantor. Our two Sunday morning liturgies have a choir mid-August through Pentecost, with cantors and small groups leading during the remaining summer months. These ensembles primarily use the Journeysongs hymnal, found in the pews. Finally, our Sunday evening mass has a contemporary ensemble which focuses on repertoire of current and active composers like Matt Maher, Scott Soper, and others of similar style.
Choir rehearsal is on Wednesday nights at 7 PM during the choir season. Additionally, each of the mass groups meet before their weekly mass to prepare for the upcoming liturgy: the 8 am choir meets at 7:30 the 11 am choir meets at 10:15. The contemporary ensemble meets at 4 pm on Sundays and the cantor and accompanist for the Saturday evening mass coordinate their own rehearsal time.
We are always looking to expand involvement in the program–singers and instrumentalists of any experience and skill level are welcome–including high school and college students. Please contact us here. We are especially in need of experienced service players to serve as accompanists at mass. We have both hired and volunteer opportunities available.Ushers
· An Usher is a minister of hospitality in the parish. Usher, as the ones who stand at the door, greet, and distribute bulletins, are the ambassadors for the parish, and a have key part in the body of Christ. Duties of Ushers include, but are not limited to: welcoming and door-keeping, seating for Mass, collections, clean-up after Mass.
· Serving as an Usher is also a great way to get to know your parish family through assisting them on a regular basis.
