Mission

Spiritual Formation prayer group of Christian men, united under the Catholic Church, who meet regularly to study Sunday Mass readings. The purpose of the Men of St. Joseph is to instill holiness in men and facilitate spiritual leadership in family and community life.

Creating a Culture of Faith for Family, Church and Community
All men college age and above are invited to join in this ongoing prayer group called "Men of Saint Joseph". We will meet from 5:00pm-6:00pm every Wednesday night before the 6:00pm mass in the Library. The format is reading the Gospel for the upcoming Sunday (with accompanying commentary) and then prayerfully reflecting on the Gospel together and sharing our inspired insights.

Respect Life

The Respect Life Ministry works to promote the culture of life in both the parish and the community.  In conjunction with respect life month we have a literature outreach to the parish. Our members are also active in setting up the Cemetery of the Innocent display in conjunction with the Roe vs. Wade decision to legalize abortion.  We work directly with COPE, a local crisis pregnancy center with our time, talent and donations.  An important aspect of our ministry is reaching out to those within our own church who either through lack of knowledge or improper catechesis do not understand the church’s consistent teaching in regard to abortion, euthanasia, living wills, and all other life issues. Seven Sisters Apostolate

The Seven Sisters Apostolate is a call to strengthen the Church by ensuring that a Holy Hour is prayed each day of the week for the sole intention of a specific Priest or Bishop—a “holy wasting” (see Mt. 26:10) or lavishing of prayer for his deeper conformity to Christ.  
A Seven Sisters group begins when at least seven women respond to a call to the mission of the apostolate. If more than seven women desire to pray in this manner, a core group of seven should be designated while others may substitute or provide additional hours of prayer. The coordinator of a group is known as the Anchoress.

The first recipient of a Seven Sisters group should always be their parish Priest. After the Priest has a committed group, subsequent groups may be formed for others, such as the parochial vicar, a retired priest, a priest serving in a non-parish assignment, or a Bishop.
The group’s intention is directed towards the office of the shepherd more than the individual. In other words, the group prays for that particular priest until he is reassigned, at which time his successor becomes the recipient of the Holy Hours. This helps us to guard against an undue attachment to a specific priest.
Each member commits to a Holy Hour on a specific day of the week, thus covering the entire week, every week. The commitment is to the assigned day; the Seven Sister may pray at any time on that day. If she is unable to offer her Holy Hour, she is to secure a substitute, explaining the Apostolate’s mission. 

The Holy Hour is ideally prayed in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament – either in an Adoration Chapel or in front of a Tabernacle – but not restricted to the parish of which the Seven Sister is a member.  Thus, one can remain faithful to the commitment when traveling, when a parish does not offer Perpetual Adoration, or when there is limited access to a particular church. Walking With Purpose is part of a nationwide Catholic women’s ministry, that through their Bible Studies help women to know Jesus Christ personally by making Scripture and the teachings of the Catholic Church relevant and applicable. The program incorporates at-home Scripture study, weekly small group discussion, and monthly talks on relevant study material.

Women of all ages are invited to join us Wednesday mornings, September through March, at Holy Spirit Parish Hall from 9-11am.
