Jesus, Mary, & Joseph Adoration Guild

The “Jesus, Mary, and Joseph Adoration Guild” at Holy Spirit Parish is a prayer ministry that witnesses to the special bond between the Hearts of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, i.e. the Holy Family by holding the all-night vigil of Adoration on the First Friday/First Saturday of each month. The second side of this sheet has more details about the reason for the choice of First Friday and First Saturday.
Our goal is to celebrate the Unity and Love between the Hearts of Jesus Mary, and Joseph, so that the hearts of all of us be united in peace, love, and humility following their example.
Another goal of the all-night vigil is to offer Reparation to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary for the sins committed by mankind against them, as requested by Our Lord from St. Margaret Mary Alacoque and by Our Lady from the Children of Fatima.
The monthly format of the First Friday – First Saturday of the month Vigil of Adoration and Reparation is as follows:

You are invited to take part in this spiritual endeavor, and to obtain abundant graces for you, your family, our Parish, our Church, and our Nation. Come anytime during the night of the vigil, and spend time with Our Eucharistic Lord exposed on the Altar. He is waiting for you. We are waiting for you.

REFLECTIONS ON THE “JESUS, MARY, AND JOSEPH ADORATION GUILD”

This devotion is about the unique relationship of LOVE and UNITY that exists between the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and the Chaste Heart of St. Joseph, as lived during their Earthly life in Nazareth, and now in Heaven for all Eternity!!!

1)   Meaning of the word “HEART” in the biblical sense: the whole person
For example in Matthew 9:27: "At the sight of the crowds, Jesus Heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd".
And in Psalm 57:7: "My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and make music".

2)   Biological aspect of the Union of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary (Jesus in Mary’s womb for 9 months)
2.1)    The heart of the baby in the womb and the mother beat at the same pace.
2.2)    The baby in the womb feeds from the heart of the mother. The mom's blood carries nutrients and oxygen to the placenta, where they are picked up by the baby's cord and carried to the baby.

3)   Biblical aspect of the Union of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary:
3.1)    The Heart of Christ pierced by a lance, with blood and water flowing out immediately (John 19:34).
3.2)    Simeon’s prophecy addressed to Mary: A sword will pierce you heart (Luke 2:35).

4) Ecclesiological aspect of the Union of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary:
The decision of Mother Church, in the person of Pope Paul VI back in 1969, to place the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary to follow each other, on the Friday/Saturday of the Octave (8 days after) of the Feast of Corpus Christi. The feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary used to be celebrated on August 22, reason why the month of August is the month of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, just as the month of June is the month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

5) Private Revelations aspect of the Union of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary:
The parallelism between the revelations of the Sacred Heart of Jesus to St. Marguerite Marie Alacoque at Paray Le Monial, France in 1673, and the revelations of the Immaculate Heart of Mary to the Three Children of Fatima, Portugal, in 1917, 244 years later.

6) Why Friday and Saturday?
6.1)   Friday is the day of the Passion of Our Lord, where the love of the Sacred Heart was poured on all mankind as Jesus on the Cross becomes the Priest, the Altar, and the Lamb of Sacrifice.
6.2)   Saturday is the day of Mary’s great sorrow as her sons lies in the tomb and as she relives every moment of the Passion and awaits the Resurrection. From the early times of the Church, Saturday had been set aside to honor the Blessed Mother of God in a special way, and this tradition continues to this present day.

The Passion of Our Lord and the Sorrows of Our Lady are still revived by the sins of mankind, thus the call of Jesus and Mother Mary for Reparation, which is one of the main aspects of the Jesus, Mary, and Joseph Adoration Guild.
